Allyson Lindsey

Allyson Lindsey is a Colorado-licensed CPA (license CPA.0034127) and Chief of Tax Operations at Bright!Tax, with 11 years of experience specializing in international tax. Her areas of expertise include the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion (FEIE), Foreign Tax Credit (FTC), FBAR reporting, FATCA compliance, IRS Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures, foreign business reporting, and expatriation.

Before joining Bright!Tax, Allyson built her technical foundation at Deloitte’s Global Mobility practice, where she prepared and reviewed complex individual returns for US expatriates and foreign nationals entering the US, ran tax equalization, tax protection, and hypothetical tax calculations for internationally assigned employees, and handled multi-state wage and income allocation for cross-border travel.

Allyson joined Bright!Tax in 2017 as a Tax Manager and has since held several leadership roles across operations and tax technical development before taking on her current role as Chief of Tax Operations, where she leads a tax team of 45 preparers and reviewers. Outside the firm, she serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver, teaching the next generation of tax professionals, and sits on the University of Denver School of Accountancy Advisory Board. She was named a COCPA Women to Watch — Emerging Leader in 2021.

Outside of work, Allyson lives in Colorado with her husband and two sons. When she isn’t leading a tax team of 45, she can be found crocheting, kickboxing, or skiing — and occasionally researching Colorado’s best microbreweries.
