My name is Alyce and I am the Digital Communications Specialist at Sirelo. I am originally from Perth in Western Australia. I loved living in Australia, but when the opportunity …
… to live overseas came up, I jumped at the chance. Many years ago, I met my fiance in China, and he happened to be from the Netherlands. We lived for four years in Australia, and we are now enjoying the adventure of living in his home country.
What do you think are the biggest challenges when moving to a new country?
Leaving the security of your family and friends and packing up your life and home are both massive challenges. You have to make so many decisions in such a short amount of time, including what to take with you, and it can of course be a bit stressful.
Enter Sirelo! Where did Sirelo come from, when and why?
Our company has been around since 2004, but Sirelo, our online platform, was launched just two years ago. We developed Sirelo to connect people moving overseas with international moving companies. We wanted to open up the moving industry and create a transparent platform for international movers, a place for them to find information and support around international moving and everything that it entails.
Who is Sirelo for?
Sirelo is a platform for anyone thinking about moving overseas as well as those who are already in the process of moving. It is a place for people to share their moving experiences through expat blogs and reviews. Sirelo is also an international platform for moving companies, where they can showcase their business and respond to reviews and customers queries.

Sirelo makes international relocation easier by allowing people to find information and compare moving companies. It allows movers to request free moving quotes so they can compare prices for their move, and make a choice that suits them. It is also a source of information on all things moving, whether it be finding out the cost of shipping furniture, or essential information on what someone needs to know when moving from the UK to the United States for example.
How does Sirelo help movers compare removal firms?
Each moving company has their own profile, which details their personalized services, allowing movers to find the company that fits their criteria. Sirelo also allows movers to submit their personal experiences with moving companies through reviews. These reviews then help inform other movers, letting them choose the right company for them. So by requesting up to five free quotes, movers are able to choose the right one for them based on cost, services offered, and customer reviews.
